MATÍZ, formerly named Sotano Studio, was established in the vibrant city of Barcelona in 2005.

The city’s cosmopolitan and Mediterranean ambiance offers our international team a steady stream of exposure to current trends in art, design, fashion, and society, fostering a dynamic environment for creative exploration and growth.

The Founder

Fanny Le Bonniec graduated from the University of Technology of Compiègne, an engineering French school focused on design. She further enriched her education and design culture by earning a Master’s degree at Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan.

After several rich life and professional experiences in France, South Korea, Italy and Spain, Fanny, alongside Oscar Del Cerro, co-founded Sotano Studio in 2005.

In 2019, driven by her passion and expertise for fragrances and cosmetics, she decided to focus 100% on packaging design and rebranded the agency as MATÍZ.

Fanny’s dedication to environmentally conscious design fuels her aspiration to create the ideal zero-waste packaging solution—one that seamlessly merges luxury, aesthetics with sustainability.
